Mathematical Association of America seeks next editor for MAA FOCUS

Akabana Consulting is please to share the news that Mathematical Association of America is looking for the next editor of its membership magazine, MAA FOCUS, to take over from the current editor when her term expires in 2026. MAA FOCUS is published six times a year and serves one of the world’s largest communities of mathematicians, students, and math enthusiasts. MAA FOCUS is distributed in print to all 20,000+ MAA members and is available to the wider community in digital format.

The MAA FOCUS editor role is part-time (approx. 10 hours per week) and the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Director of Publications to create timely issues of the highest quality that communicate the work of the MAA in advancing the understanding of mathematics and its impact on our world. 

A university educational background in mathematics, engineering, the physical sciences, or related fields would be advantageous. Experience with magazine

or journal editorial and publication processes would also be a plus. Financial compensation in the form of teaching time release or a stipend is available.
